Candace Wheeler "Bees With Honeycomb" Vase
Candace Wheeler (New York, 1827-1923) was among the first women to work professionally in the decorative arts in America. An early feminist, she promoted careers in the arts for women and equality in the workplace. Wheeler founded the Society of Domestic Arts, which empowered women to turn domestic arts into financial independence. Her success led to a partnership with Louis C. Tiffany in a textile firm producing home décor.
As a part of the Associated Artists, Candace Wheeler had an important role in the 1881 redecoration of the Clemenses’ home. Her wallpaper design, Bees with Honeycomb, can now be found in the Mahogany guest bedroom, and inspires this vase. Modgy Expandable Flower Vases do everything a glass vase does except collect dust, chip or break.
Dimensions: 10.25" X 6.25" Materials: BPA free plastic vase.
