The Stencil Collection by Amy Kahn Russell

In 1881, Samuel Clemens hired a firm called The Associated Artists to update the interior design and decor of his mansion in Hartford, CT. The firm was headed by leaders in the field of decorative arts: Louis Comfort Tiffany, Lockwood de Forest, Candace Wheeler, and Samuel Colman. Under their direction, many of the walls of Twain's home were hand painted with intricate geometric stencil patterns. It is those patterns that inspire this collection. This design features the stencil pattern from the home's front hall.

Pendant is a handmade tile, set in plated metal in Amy's Ridgefield, CT studio. Chain measures 18".
